Nine things that AVATAR® isn't
Comparisons between avatar and other courses tend to be superficial, so it is helpful to tell people what Avatar is not.
1. Avatar isn't a religious or metaphysical philosophy.
The course theory can be summed up in three words: "beliefs create experience". Becoming able to fashion one's own experiences through consciously adopted beliefs is a transcendent state or spiritual experience.
2. Avatar isn't about outside casual force. It doesn't concern God, channelled entities, angels, guides or gurus. Avatar is about you. As the author of your universe, it enables you to explore your belief systems from a new perspective.
3. Avatar isn't an either/or system. It doesn't conflict with your chosen spiritual path. Participants have included Buddhist monks, catholic priests and nuns, Baptists, Mormons, Moslems, agnostics and atheists.
4. Avatar isn't about the past. You may explore aspects of your past during part two of the course. But in part three you will learn to un-do the past without delving into content or meaning.
5. Avatar isn't a group activity. For convenience (and to make the course more fun), some exercises in part two are done with another student or a trainer. Avatar is not an encounter or support group. It is self-directed and self-placed. You address the exact areas of life that concern you.
6. Avatar isn't a series of steps or levels. The three-part, nine-day course, is all there is. After the course, you'll be equipped to use the procedures to deal with whatever comes up in life.
7. Avatar isn't a way to adjust. It isn't designed to help you to partially or gradually learn to live with your limitation or problems. It will help you eliminate their root causes - so you can fashion your life as a work of art, or visualisation. Without implanting ideas, it enables you to manage your subconscious programming.
8. Avatar isn't subliminal. It is not self-hypnosis, auto suggestion, affirmation, or visualisation. Without implanting ideas, it enables you to manage your subconscious programming.
9. Avatar isn't for the irresponsible. It's a deliberate walk through the human experience that will enable you to take full responsibility for your life and create your future direction.
